Mango Case Studies
New machine exceeds most ambitious target by 10%
Quentin Parker - Parker Poynt Mangoes
Quentin Parker of Parker Poynt in Kununurra, Northern Territory was in need of a new grader for the 2010 mango season to accommodate his projected packing volume of 100,000 trays and asked GP Graders to build it. A meeting of the minds followed with Quentin knowing exactly what he wanted and GP Graders were able to provide it. In fact with only an eight week lead time “everything came together”. Quentin is delighted with the result, stating that “it works like a dream”.
Quentin, who operated his last GP Graders machine for 14 years, chose another GP Grader as he likes the machinery, the service, and the helpfulness of Geoff Payne the company founder from whom he bought his previous grader. He found GP Graders “fantastically helpful”.
The machine has exceeded its target of 100,000 trays per season, having packed 110,000 trays by the last week of the season. The grader has surplus capacity to handle more than the 4,000 trays a day it currently grades.
Quentin has been pleased with the back up service and likes the technology. He has found the grader to be accurate to within 1 gram and is pleased with the consistent sizing. He also finds the machine to be very quiet and easy to work around. After almost a full season Quentin is very satisfied with his purchase and says “everyone in the district is jealous”.
